First HYDRO facility
Deep roots
HYDRO was founded in 1965 in the picturesque town of Biberach, in Germany’s Black Forest. Then, a little less than ten years later, a tinkerer with a knack for experimenting who went by the name of Joseph Holzer joined the company. This would prove to be a pivotal development, as his vision of spreading HYDRO throughout the world would eventually become a reality thanks to his unyielding drive and to an approach that has remained a cornerstone of the company to this day: An absolute and uncompromising focus on our customers.
But back to that initial year: Starting in 1965, a group of enthusiastic engineers with a passion for their craft would develop HYDRO’s very first axle and tripod-jacks. And their determination and creativity, combined with the excellent quality of their work, ensured that the young company would get the attention of the international aerospace industry soon afterwards.
Organic growth
Since then, we have specialized in developing solutions designed to address the technical challenges of our customers and partners, enabling us to grow continuously for more than half a century. In other words, we have gone from a hidden champion to an industry leader, if you will. And despite all this, and the fact that we continue to refine and develop our processes and services, we have always remained true to the essential values of our founder.
Two of the decisive factors that have made us into an industry leader today are our solid long-term planning and the continuous expansion of our product portfolio. One of the results of this is the fact that aerospace companies worldwide have come to trust and rely on our ground support equipment and airframe & engine tooling solutions. Nevertheless, we have remained an owner-managed company all throughout.
