Test stand with a capacity of 150 metric tons for Air France

Founded in 1933, Air France is the number one French airline and, together with KLM, one of the world's largest air carriers by revenue and passengers transported. From its hubs at Paris-Orly and Paris-Charles de Gaulle airports, the airline operates flights to 195 destinations and 91 countries. From its very beginnings in 1933, Air France decided to handle its own aircraft maintenance operations.

Annual checks of your tools keep them safe and ensure a long tool life-time. That’s why Air France decided to have their own test stand at their Paris-Orly maintenance location. “Passive” means that the test stand measures the force of the product being tested without generating a force itself. If it would generate a force itself it would be an “active” stand. The test stand has a capacity of 150 metric tons and easily met the 125% load over 5 minutes at the final-acceptance test on-site.
