HYDRO at the biggest Inter Airport Europe ever

Nearly 14,000 visitors – and one massive engine transportation stand fascinating the people

The 21st edition of Inter Airport Europe, the international exhibition for airport equipment, technology, design and services, ended with a record number of visitors. During the four exhibition days, a total of 13,854 trade visitors from 110 countries came to the Munich Trade Fair Center in Germany to discover the latest trends in the airport industry and source innovative equipment and systems. This represents a 9% increase in visitor numbers compared to the previous show in 2015.

With a total of 654 exhibitors from 43 countries and a net exhibition space of 31,800 m2, Inter Airport Europe 2017 was also able to increase its floor space by 7% compared to the previous event and this made it bigger than ever. Inter Airport Europe 2017 was once again a highly international event. Around 70% of the exhibitors came from outside Germany.

Two exhibits made the people stop and look

HYDRO was on-site with a large booth of in total 150 sqm, to give visitors the latest updates from each of its business units: Ground Support Equipment, Airframe and Engine Tooling, Engine Transportation, Engineered Solutions, and Service. Live-demonstrations of the new multipurpose »SMART LINE« tripod jack were held. Additionally, HYDRO showcased what was probably the biggest exhibit ever for HYDRO at Inter Airport: The Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 APS engine transportation stand.

A challenging booth set-up handling a 7.5 metric ton exhibit

The task of the Trent 1000 APS engine transportation stand is to transport 50,000 horsepower with 18,000 individual components. It is simply the safest way to transport the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engine.

But this job was special for the engine stand. The stand was part of the attraction at this years’ HYDRO booth. It is 6.19 m (243”) in length with unfolded castors, and 2.47 m (97”) in height – those are its massive dimensions. The all-purpose stand was a loan from our friends at British Airways. It came straight down from the UK to Munich. Positioning 7.5 metric tons of weight accurately to the right spot with a forklift was a tough job. The result was worth the effort. The engine transportation stand fascinated the people and made them stop by.

Relaxed conversations with interesting people: the HYDRO booth party

The diversity of visitors from different countries at Inter Airport Europe reflected the visitors at this years’ HYDRO booth party. Customers and friends from around the world met to have relaxed conversations with interesting people in a pleasant atmosphere. DJ Julia Diamond mixed house beats while our guests enjoyed a drink with friends.

The formula for success: happy customers, dedicated salespeople, and a passionate management team

The show finished after four days with a very successful résumé for HYDRO. It was the biggest Inter Airport Europe ever, with visitors setting an all-time record. The same could be said for HYDRO.
